Toddling Through God's Word

Toddling Through God's Word was designed for children ages 2 to 5 years. Lessons include songs, Bible stories, and activities while also incorporating math, social studies, social emotional learning, fine motor skills practice, large motor skills practice, music, and art. Each Bible story is divided into 5 short sections with an activity for each to make it easier for children to comprehend. My family completed a section each day to finish a Bible story in 5 days. We repeated the Bible story's song each day. If you were a children's church teacher, you could pick and choose from the activities to complete an entire Bible story in one class time. One of each of the five activities of the Bible story will always include a snack! Children's church teachers might use the song for a music time at the end to reinforce the story or at the beginning to introduce the story.

Bible Story Sequencing

Four, five, and six year olds can begin to understand the sequence of the Bible stories. With a grown-ups help, this printable is a great resource! Children can cut out a picture of the story, and then match the picture of the story to the appropriate ordinal number. Toddling Through God's Word Story Sequencing

Bible Phonics Readers

Children who are beginning to learn to read can use these Bible Phonics Readers that correlate with the Toddling Through God's Word Curriculum.

Teaching Tip: You can help your child recall previous stories by singing previously learned songs and discussing what the lyrics mean. For example, you could sing the song, Disciples, from the Jesus's Disciple lesson. Then you could ask your child what a disciple is. You could ask your child if he or she is a disciple of Jesus.

Encouragement: The most important way to to teach your kids about Jesus's love, is loving your kids! Good job to all the parents/primary caregivers who are loving even when life gets tough! Good job to all the parents/primary caregivers exemplifying grace and mercy to ourselves and our children when we mess up. We are not Jesus. We will all make mistakes, but that simply creates more chances for us to grow in Jesus's character and for our kids' to watch us grow!
